Business WEEE obligations
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. This legislation came into force in July 2007 and affects any business wishing to dispose of IT equipment. WEEE regulations place a duty of care on the owners of IT equipment to ensure that all waste equipment is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
As a Microsoft® Authorised Re-furbisher we aim to re-use all of the unwanted IT equipment that we collect. Only the parts that cannot possibly be re-used will be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner helping you comply with your WEEE regulations.
Data Protection Act & your business
The Data Protection Act sets out eight principles by which personal data on a third party must be held, used, transferred and destroyed. We will automatically process all equipment so that all information from hard drives, disks and back up devices cannot be read or retrieved. We will also provide a certificate of data destruction. Additionally we can provide a backup of any data as requested. We can also provide a data erasing service for non-waste items.
